DROID Reaction To DTE Sod Fight
A huge sod fight broke out in the rain as Family Values 2007 stopped at DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan on July 25th. Fans tore large sections of the hillside lawn from the ground, turning a slippery moshpit into a mud-caked warzone. The foray was brought on by a crushing show by Long Beach groove metal outfit Droid, who turned in one of the hands-down heaviest performances of the festival.
Droid frontman James "Buddy" Eason reacted to the turf brawl, saying "The first thing I thought was 'Fuck yeah, those are my kind of people up there. They're doing the things that I did when I was going to metal shows as a teenager. I love it. One guy came up to me and said, 'Man, I haven't seen anybody throw sod since Pantera.' That's really cool because that's one of my favorite bands of all time. It makes you feel really good."
Droid is currently on the Family Values Tour with Korn, Evanescence, Atreyu, Trivium, Five Finger Death Punch and many more. Click here for the latest tour dates.
Droid's debut album "Droid," was released via ESR on July 10th.
