Arrest Made In Corrosion of Conformity Concert Stabbing

Bay News 9 is reporting that the man believed to be responsible for stabbing four people at a CORROSION OF CONFORMITY concert Thursday (June 23) turned himself into Tampa police Saturday morning.

Michael Pyne, 39, of Pinellas Park is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Thomas Laskas and attempted murder of his wife Wendi Laskas.

Pyne is also charged with aggravated battery and aggravated assault for allegedly stabbing two other people at Club Masquerade.

Pyne told police it all began about 11:30 p.m. Thursday when he saw his girlfriend get in a fight during the concert at the club.

"He was at Masquerade," Joe Durkin of the Tampa Police Department said. "He remembers his girlfriend being involved in a fight. Trying to pull her free he saw some kind of cut on her arm. Then he doesn't remember anything after that. He says he blacked out, but he did say he had a knife with him, but now he can't find the knife."

Police said they don't think any other suspects were involved.

Lakas is listed in fair condition at Tampa General Hospital.

Pyne is being held without bond at the Hillsborough County Jail.

Club Masquerade is back open for business.
