Dark Tranquility Kicks Off 'Metal For The Masses' Tour

Swedish melodic death metal pioneers Dark Tranquility kicked off their touring cycle for 'Fiction' in the U.S. tonight in Orlando on the massive "Metal For The Masses" co-headlining run with The Haunted, Into Eternity and Scar Symmetry.

This tour officially launches the record cycle for the band's new album, 'Fiction', a scorching effort that will undoubtedly add an exhilarating new chapter to the genre's storied history. With 'Fiction', Dark Tranquility triumphantly returns to revitalize the genre they helped to create and further cement their status as one of the scene's most influential metal bands.

A new video for the blistering new track "Focus Shift" was recently posted on YouTube.com. The clip was shot by acclaimed director Roger Johansson (In Flames, The Haunted) and captures the band's unmatched live intensity.

Niklas Sundin (guitars) further describes his thoughts on the new album: "Tue Madsen did a fantastic job with the sound, and the result is diverse and exciting enough to satisfy even the most critical of listeners. The 10 songs are extremely varied and showcase all facets of the D.T. experience while breaking new ground as well as reviving some elements that haven't been featured in D.T. songs since the early years."

'Fiction' is due in stores on April 24th via Century Media.
