THE SWORD ANNOUNCE NORTH AMERICAN TOUR WITH IN FLAMES

Punishing Austin, Texas-based quartet THE SWORD has announced North American tour dates with Swedish metal titans IN FLAMES. THE SWORD has been added as special guests on the IN FLAMES tour, which will kick off on December 5 in Norfolk, VA.

THE SWORD is currently on the road alongside Trivium in support of their debut album Age of Winters and their much talked about new single / video "Freya". The striking "Freya" video as shot on HD film using a unique mixture of black and white and color and details the story of "Freya", who "appears on a battlefield after a battle and wanders through the corpses looking for warriors to take back to Folkvang". A still shot from "Freya" can be viewed at this location. The hard-hitting single is currently being serviced to radio stations and video outlets nationwide.

THE SWORD (guitarist / singer J.D. Cronise, guitarist Kyle Shutt, bassist Bryan Richie and drummer Trivett Wingo), have met to widespread critical acclaim since the release of Age of Winters. The band has been named as one of Billboard Magazine's 2006 "Faces to Watch" and an MTV News "You Hear It First" artist. THE SWORD's dynamic sound has been called "a clinic in SABBATH-influenced heavy metal", while Age of Winters has been hailed as "the new classic-Black Sabbath platter you have been waiting forever for the old Sabs to make" by Rolling Stone.
