Ex Deo frontman comments on tour
EX DEO, the Ancient Roman themed arsenal lead by KATAKLYSM front man Maurizio Iacono, recently returned home after making their North American debut alongside ENSIFERUM and BLACKGUARD.
Performance footage from the tour can be viewed below. "If the debut shows in North America and Europe have had these results," Iacono added, "the future looks bright as the empire rises from its ashes."
Plans are also in the works for the band to film a video clip for the track 'The Final War (Battle Actium)', taken from EX DEO's critically acclaimed debut album Romulus. The video will be shot once again by renowned director Ivan Colic and producer Stanimir Lucik in Belgrade, Serbia. The filming will take place in early January 2010 and will be released in the month of Mars (March) to celebrate Mars, the ancient Roman god of war.
Commented vocalist Maurizio Iacono:
"After much discussion with the director Ivan Collic we decided to go with 'The Final War (Battle Actium)' as the next video clip for Romulus. I love the song 'In Her Dark Embrace', which was initially the planned video track, but we've decided to bring the whole production one step higher and film 'The Final War (Battle Actium)'. The story line is amazing for this song and we will be able to capture not only Roman battle scenes and all the blood you want, but also the true story behind the war that turned Rome from a republic into an Empire. We're going full force with this one!"
