Sacred Oath Unleashes Anticipation with New Album 'Don't Be Afraid'

Legends of power metal prepare to storm the scene with their tenth studio offering this December.

In a thunderous announcement that echoes through the hallowed halls of heavy metal, Sacred Oath, in collaboration with Angel Thorne Music, has set a release date for their much-anticipated tenth studio album, 'Don’t Be Afraid,' hitting the shelves on December 4th via SRGILS/Virgin Music. This latest offering promises to deliver the signature blend of power metal that earned them a cult following since the late '80s.

To stoke the flames of excitement, the band has been strategically dropping singles over the past 18 months, a bold move that showcases their evolution in the streaming age. The first single, “Is It Time?”, made its debut in November 2024, with subsequent tracks released at a steady rhythm to keep the metal masses hungry for more. Each single has been accompanied by lyric videos featuring original artwork from drummer Kenny “Thundarr” Evans, giving fans a visual feast alongside their auditory delights.

Rob Thorne, the band’s charismatic frontman and guitarist, expressed his enthusiasm about the innovative approach taken for this album. “The immediacy of streaming has really changed the rules,” he stated. Rather than cramming all their creativity into one recording session, Sacred Oath opted for a more organic process, crafting and releasing songs one by one. This allowed Thorne to zero in on each track while engaging directly with the fanbase for real-time feedback, making the album a living, breathing entity throughout its creation.

Set for worldwide distribution, 'Don’t Be Afraid' will launch in every corner of the globe, with digital pre-orders commencing on November 20 on platforms like Apple and Amazon Music. Fans who pre-order will receive instant access to all five singles released thus far, a tantalizing taste of what’s to come.

Returning to their classic four-piece lineup, Sacred Oath reunites Thorne with original members Damiano Christian (guitar), Scott Waite (bass), and Kenny “Thundarr” Evans (drums). With roots tracing back to 1985, these metal stalwarts have graced every album since, including their celebrated live recordings.

Best known for their 1988 masterpiece, 'A Crystal Vision,' which remains a seminal work in the power metal genre, Sacred Oath has since released eight critically acclaimed albums that solidified their legacy in metal history. As anticipation builds for 'Don’t Be Afraid', the band continues to prove that they are a force to be reckoned with, ready to remind the world why they are legends in the game.
