Molly Hatchet Rides Again with 'Lost Horizon': A Southern Rock Resurrection

After 16 years, the legendary Southern rockers return with an album steeped in history, recorded at the iconic Abbey Road Studios.

In a triumphant return to the studio, MOLLY HATCHET is set to unleash 'Lost Horizon' on November 27, marking their first studio album in a staggering 16 years. The revered Southern rock band has taken the reins of their legacy, recording all 12 tracks in the hallowed halls of London's Abbey Road Studios, where rock history was etched into the very fabric of music itself. Guitarist Bobby Ingram, who has been a stalwart of the band, reflects on the experience, saying, 'In Studio 2, to be precise — that's exactly where THE BEATLES worked 60 years ago.'

Ingram's enthusiasm is palpable as he shares that they utilized the same iconic microphones that once captured the magic of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. The band enlisted the expertise of renowned sound engineer Chris Bolster, who has worked with legends like Elton John and the FOO FIGHTERS. Ingram describes the experience as nothing short of emotional, stating, 'It was an incredibly emotional experience to cut the new MOLLY HATCHET album under such awesome conditions.'

'Lost Horizon' serves as a bridge from MOLLY HATCHET's last sonic offering, 'Justice,' released back in 2010. With the core lineup featuring Ingram, keyboardist John Galvin, and bassist Tim Lindsey, the band welcomes two new bloods: Garrett Ramsden on drums and Parker Lee on vocals. Ingram praises the newcomers, saying, 'Garrett has brought a breath of fresh air to the band, and Parker brings to mind a young Danny Joe Brown, our unforgotten original singer.'

The album promises to be a heartfelt exploration of Southern rock, with Ingram asserting that it stands as one of their most emotional and profound works to date. The debut single 'Dixie Highway' encapsulates the essence of the album, with Ingram describing it as a 'true story of growing up in the south and living life on the edge.' The vivid imagery of driving down Florida's famed highways with reckless abandon is sure to resonate with fans.
