LETLIVE. Teases New Music Amidst Reunion Hype

By Jason
In a raw and candid interview, LETLIVE. frontman Jason Aalon Butler hints at the band's potential for new material as they reconnect with their roots.

In a recent sit-down with Rock Sound's James Wilson-Taylor at the Download Festival, LETLIVE. frontman Jason Aalon Butler unleashed a torrent of excitement about the band's potential return to the studio. The post-hardcore titans have reunited, and Butler made it clear that the spark is more than just nostalgia; it's about a rejuvenated bond among band members.

"Yeah, we've certainly discussed it," Butler revealed, his passion palpable. The vocalist described the profound connection that the band rediscovered during their reunion, emphasizing how their camaraderie extends beyond the stage. "For so long, the band was about this side of the stage — everything on this side [where the audience is] — and we did an internal audit and we realized how much we love each other." This newfound intimacy could be the catalyst for a fresh wave of creativity.

Butler continued, diving deep into the band's artistic vision. He noted the importance of delivering something meaningful in a world saturated with political fatigue and fleeting Internet moments. The question remains: can LETLIVE. channel their fervor into music that resonates in today’s chaotic climate? Butler hinted that any new offerings would need to pack a punch, staying true to the band’s original intent. "If we can offer something that does offer a proper impact the way that LETLIVE. was meant to from the beginning, then we could consider that moving forward," he stated, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.

The current lineup boasts the fierce talents of Butler, guitarists Jeff Sahyoun and Jean Francisco Nascimento, drummer Ryan Seaman, and bassist Skyler Acord. This ensemble hit the road last year for a global farewell tour aptly named "Sincerely Yours," marking their first venture since the band's split in 2017.

LETLIVE.'s legacy is etched in the annals of post-hardcore history, with four albums and one EP under their belt, the most recent being the critically acclaimed "If I'm The Devil" released prior to their hiatus. As fans eagerly await what’s next, Butler’s words echo a promise: LETLIVE. is not done yet, and their journey is poised for a powerful resurgence.
