WALLS OF JERICHO Blasts Back with 'System Error: Humanity'

By Jason
The metalcore pioneers return to reclaim their throne with a raw, unapologetic new album and a fist-pumping first single.

Detroit's metalcore titans, WALLS OF JERICHO, have long been the architects of a genre that has shaped the underground scene since the late '90s. With seminal albums like 'The Bound Feed The Gagged' and 'All Hail The Dead', they laid the groundwork for the melodic aggression that's now a staple in metalcore. Their 2006 breakthrough, 'With Devils Amongst Us All', further catapulted them into the global spotlight, solidifying their status as legends in the game.

After an unyielding tour schedule that has seen them obliterate stages at renowned festivals like Louder Than Life and Hellfest, WALLS OF JERICHO is primed for a thunderous return. Their latest offering, 'System Error: Humanity', is set to drop on November 13 through Napalm Records. This album promises to be a relentless barrage of sound, staying true to the raw energy that has defined their legacy.

Frontwoman Candace Buckingham declares, "'System Error: Humanity' is the rawest and most aggressive record we've created. We aimed to encapsulate the chaos and intensity of our live performances, rather than chasing perfection. Lyrically, it’s a direct rebellion against the societal forces that fracture identity. This album is about reclaiming your attention and your identity in a world that constantly pushes conformity. It's time to kill the noise and reclaim yourself."

With the announcement comes the explosive first single, "The Ascent", a track that twists and churns with dissonant riffs and crushing breakdowns that hit like a freight train. Buckingham's words on the track resonate deeply: "It's about confronting hard truths and finding real strength in the struggle. Growth begins where comfort ends." The intensity of 'The Ascent' sets the stage for a record that promises to deliver an experience like no other.

Opening with the bone-crushing anthem "True Til' Death", WALLS OF JERICHO reasserts their dominance with an aggressive fury that is unmistakable. Tracks like "The Flame" and "Agency" showcase their thrash-infused prowess, propelling listeners into a pit of relentless energy. The lyrics ignite a call to arms, encouraging fans to fight for self-determination and human rights. With guest appearances from heavyweights like LAMB OF GOD’s Randy Blythe and Guy Kozowyk of THE RED CHORD, the album takes on an even more cataclysmic vibe.

Mastered by legendary producer Kurt Ballou of CONVERGE fame, 'System Error: Humanity' captures the raw spirit of WALLS OF JERICHO while delivering a polished yet ferocious listening experience. As they prepare to unleash this sonic onslaught, one thing is clear: humanity may be the source of the system error, but WALLS OF JERICHO are here to remind us that we are the system—and we hold the power to change it.
