Deth Provider: The Bay Area's New Death Metal Juggernaut Unleashes Hell
The Bay Area has long been the crucible of metal’s most unyielding forces, and now a seismic shift is rippling through the underground with the emergence of Deth Provider. This self-titled debut album is not just a collection of songs; it’s a brutal testament to the unparalleled legacy of Bay Area death metal, forged by a collective of seasoned musicians who refuse to compromise.
Originally unleashed on vinyl in June 2026 via Hectic Records and Bleeding Priest Records, Deth Provider is now crashing onto digital platforms, offering metalheads around the globe the chance to immerse themselves in a cataclysmic celebration of old-school death metal ferocity, relentless grooves, and a visceral atmosphere that only the Bay Area can conjure.
At the heart of this project is rhythm guitarist and mastermind Kenneth Dutton, whose raw, phone-recorded ideas evolved in 2024 into a full-fledged musical assault. With the addition of Herman Bandala and Chris Corona from Molten, the trio sought a drummer who could bring the thunder, and they found that in the legendary Will Carroll of Death Angel. What began as a mere three tracks exploded into a nine-track onslaught, with Carroll’s ferocious double bass work propelling Dutton’s punishing riffs into the stratosphere.
Deth Provider has morphed into a Bay Area death metal supergroup, featuring an all-star lineup of scene veterans and burgeoning talents. The album is a collaborative effort, showcasing contributions from some of the most respected musicians in the region, ensuring that each track resonates with the unique sonic signature of its contributor. The result is a filthy, riff-driven death metal record that pays homage to the genre's roots while injecting it with the personalities of its creators.
The name Deth Provider itself is a badge of honor, inspired by a comment from Forbidden bassist Matt Camacho during an episode of Zetro’s Toxic Vault, where he dubbed himself a “death provider.” This moniker, born from an unexpected source, perfectly encapsulates the band’s mission to deliver an unrelenting sound that echoes the legacy of Bay Area metal.
Recorded and mixed by Chris Corona at San Francisco's Secret Studios, with mastering by Justin Weis at S.S.F., the album boasts artwork and insert design by Corona and Dave Gorsuch, respectively. Deth Provider is now available digitally and on 12” vinyl LP. Are you ready to embrace the full might of Bay Area death metal? Order your copy today and dive headfirst into this electrifying release!
