Evanescence Announce New Album Sanctuary, Release Powerful Single “Who Will You Follow”
Evanescence have officially announced their upcoming sixth studio album, Sanctuary, and unveiled a dramatic new single titled “Who Will You Follow,” offering fans the first major preview of the band’s next era.
The album is scheduled for release on June 5, 2026, marking the band’s first full-length record since 2021’s The Bitter Truth. The announcement arrives alongside the debut of “Who Will You Follow,” a dark and cinematic track that highlights the band’s signature blend of orchestral atmosphere, heavy guitars, and Amy Lee’s soaring vocals.
“Who Will You Follow” was co-written and produced by Zakk Cervini and former Bring Me the Horizon member Jordan Fish, two producers known for shaping the modern sound of heavy alternative and metal music. The collaboration signals a slightly heavier, contemporary edge for Evanescence while still maintaining the emotional intensity that has defined the band’s music for more than two decades.
According to frontwoman Amy Lee, the album has been in development for more than three years. She described the creative process as both challenging and rewarding, explaining that the music became a way to process difficult emotions and reconnect with the band’s artistic vision. Lee said she feels proud of the finished record and eager for fans to finally hear the full project.
Sanctuary will feature 12 tracks, including the previously released song “Afterlife,” which originally appeared in connection with the 2025 animated series Devil May Cry. That track went on to top rock radio charts in the United States and Canada, building momentum ahead of the new album announcement.
Production on the album was shared between Cervini, Fish, and veteran rock producer Nick Raskulinecz, whose past work includes projects with Korn, Foo Fighters, and Rush. The mix of producers reflects the band’s effort to blend their established symphonic rock sound with modern production techniques.
The release of Sanctuary will also coincide with an extensive tour schedule planned for 2026, with the band preparing to bring the new material to audiences across multiple continents. The upcoming shows are expected to feature both new songs and fan favorites from Evanescence’s long catalog.
Formed in the late 1990s and rising to global fame with the 2003 album Fallen, Evanescence have remained one of the most recognizable names in alternative rock and gothic metal. With the arrival of “Who Will You Follow” and the announcement of Sanctuary, the band appears ready to launch a major new chapter in their career.
