On Broken Wings - "Disintegrator"
In case of existential crisis break out this album.
After years of silence, Boston five-piece On Broken Wings are finally returning with a heavy-hitting new record. With their August 19th release, Disintegrator, these veterans of hardcore strive to sweep the scene with the guttural vocals, grinding guitars, and explosive percussions that made them a household name from the very start.
Since the band’s inception in 2001, they have released four records [Number One Beautiful (2001), Some of us May Never See the World (2003), It’s All a Long Goodbye (2005), Going Down (2007)] and played countless tours with the likes of Killswitch Engage, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Between the Buried and Me. They have set themselves apart and earned a reputation for the chaotic, violent mosh pits their music incites in any crowd. After seeing time and time again how their sound affected audiences across America, they coined the term “mosh-metal†as a reflection of their new energy and sound. On Broken Wings now includes vocalist Jonathan Blake, drummer Kevin Garvin, bassist Rob Deangelis, guitarist Burke Medieros, and guitarist/programmer Mike McMillen, who is producing the new record.
With a flawless combination of raucous growls and dragging, heavy instrumentals, the pioneers of “mosh-metal†are back with a vengeance. Their Artery Recordings debut, Disintegrator, will be the perfect reintroduction into a scene long-lost without their belligerent live shows and harsh, thick sound. Don’t call it a comeback. It’s a new beginning.
