Grab your leather jackets; Metal Church's electrifying performance from 2016 is hitting vinyl and DVD/CD this October!

Prepare yourselves, metalheads, because MIG (Made In Germany Music) has just dropped a bombshell: on October 9, the legendary Metal Church will unleash their long-awaited 'Live At Rock Hard 2016' on vinyl and DVD/CD. This release isn't just another addition to your collection; it's a celebration of 45 years of relentless heavy metal history that every fan worth their salt needs to witness.

Metal Church, a band that has weathered the storms of the ever-evolving metal scene, has always maintained a fierce bond with its loyal followers. Founding member and guitar wizard Kurdt Vanderhoof reflects on this connection, stating, “For decades, Metal Church has been a mainstay of the international heavy metal scene – driven by passion, perseverance, and an unshakable connection to our fans.” This relationship has been the lifeblood of the band, guiding them through the peaks and valleys of an illustrious career.

Originating in 1981 under the name Shrapnel, Metal Church emerged during a crucial time in metal's history when subgenres like thrash and speed were just finding their footing. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1984 on Ground Zero Records, was a clarion call to the metal masses, quickly followed by the critically acclaimed 'The Dark.' By 1986, they had already landed a deal with major label Warner/Elektra, solidifying their status in the heavy metal hierarchy.

The 2016 performance at the Gelsenkirchen Amphitheater during the Rock-Hard Festival was nothing short of a metal pilgrimage. Captured by WDR Rockpalast, this show now gets its much-deserved release, allowing fans to experience the raw energy and ferocity of Metal Church from the front row. Kurdt expresses the band's excitement, saying, “We hope you enjoy this show from the 2016 Rock-Hard Festival just as much as we did on stage.”

With a setlist featuring anthems like “Fake Healer,” “In Mourning,” and “Watch The Children Pray,” this live album promises to deliver the sonic onslaught that Metal Church fans crave. Each side of the vinyl is packed with tracks that have become staples in the metal canon, proving once again why Metal Church continues to reign supreme after nearly half a century in the game.
