Infectious Grooves Set to Blow the Roof Off The Fonda Theatre for 35th Anniversary

Brace yourselves, metalheads and funk aficionados! INFECTIOUS GROOVES, the genre-bending powerhouse co-founded by METALLICA's own Robert Trujillo and his SUICIDAL TENDENCIES comrade Mike Muir, is throwing a colossal bash to commemorate the 35th anniversary of their debut album, 'The Plague That Makes Your Booty Move… It’s The Infectious Grooves'. Mark your calendars for November 28, when they take over The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, California, promising an unforgettable night of high-octane jams and wild surprises.

The lineup for this momentous occasion will feature the original groove merchants: Trujillo on bass, Muir on vocals, and the dynamic duo of guitarists Dean Pleasants and Dave Kushner, the latter of whom is known for his tenure with VELVET REVOLVER. Drummer Brooks Wackerman, known for his thunderous beats with AVENGED SEVENFOLD, will round out this formidable crew, ensuring that the night will be a celebration of funk and fury.

In a recent social media post, INFECTIOUS GROOVES teased their fans with a promise of nostalgia and mayhem, saying: “It’s a Fonda Theater deja vu! November 28th at the Fonda Theatre. INFECTIOUS GROOVES playing their entire first album.” They reminisced about the band's origins and the wild ride that followed, hinting at a night filled with both old favorites and fresh surprises. Muir himself has noted that this is an opportunity to break down the barriers between genres, and fans can expect nothing less than a furious celebration of musical freedom.

For those who may be unfamiliar, INFECTIOUS GROOVES emerged in 1989, buoyed by the creative chemistry between Muir and Trujillo, who sought to craft songs that highlighted the bass while giving all members the freedom to unleash their creativity. Muir once stated, “There’s something beautiful about breaking rules that never should have been made.” It’s this spirit that has kept the band alive and kicking for over three decades, and now they’re ready to unleash that energy once more.
