We love Roadrunner Records. Every metal fan has countless albums in their collection from the labels immense roster. But like all labels, Roadrunner has signed it's fair share of duds.
We love Roadrunner Records. Every metal fan has countless albums in their collection from the labels immense roster. But like all labels, Roadrunner has signed it's fair share of duds. Today, we take a look at some of Roadrunner Records worst bands.
Madina Lake
Madina Lake has it's fans, mainly young girls into dudes with haircuts, black nail polish and like to cry.
Dry Kill Logic
I'm sure a lot of people would disagree with me on DKL. With each album released getting worse and worse, the band was never really able to build its' fanbase let alone hold onto the few it had.
Black Label Society
Zakk Wylde is a great guitarist...for Ozzy Osbourne. In his short time with the label, nothing really happened. Albums were released, sales never grew yet Zakk lived it up and made demands like a pop diva.
Black Stone Cherry
Not really a bad band, just not the right band for the label.
The Agony Scene
With the nu-metal backlash in full swing, Roadrunner Records signed The Agony Scene. This metalcore outfit had such little fan interest that the bands vocalist posted a blog on MySpace to let it's fan know they broke up 8 months prior.
Five Pointe O
These guys might have been able to do something if not for the lineup changes and lack of focus with their Roadrunner Records debut. Another band signed by following the trends in metal.
Ill Nino
I think a good rule of thumb for Roadrunner in the late 90's, early 2000's would have been not to sign any band with turntables. Ill Nino peaked in 2003 with Confession.
Methods of Mayhem
No matter how much the sound has changed, 10 years isn't enough time to make me forget Method of Mayhem's self-title Limp Bizkit inspired debut.
Coal Chamber
Two words..."Big Truck!"
Baby Fox
I think Roadrunner became sidetracked in the 90's and wanted to become a club mix label. The only song I remember from them had birds chirping in the background and cows.
Nickelback
C'mon, Nickelback was the labels best signing, they allowed the label to take some chances with some great bands. And one more thing...we love Roadrunner. They brought us Deicide, Death, Obituary, King Diamond, Sepultura, DragonForce among many other great bands currently on the roster. Check em out at
