End of Year Recap - Harrison Young of Doro Pesch

Doro With the year coming to a close, The Gauntlet has contacted some of our favorite bands to recap their year and let us know whats in store for 2011. Harrison Young from Doro Pesch has checked in with us.

Did you have any ‘Spinal Tap’ moments this year?
At Doro's last gig in the states this year, the promoter decided that instead of giving us beer, we'd be much happier with a giant bag of Halloween candy. He was wrong.

What were some of your favorite releases from 2010?
I know it's not metal in any way, but my favorite releases this year were Robyn's Bodytalk 1-3. I can't get these songs out of my head no matter how hard I try.

New Year’s resolution?
To rock hard, but also to get some fucking sleep every now and again.

Most memorable metal news item of 2010?
Doro's signing with Nuclear Blast. She deserves it!

Plans for the holidays?
Drinking and sleeping! I'm also starting a new Earth Minor record, so I'll be glad to have some time for
that.

What’s on your ipod?
Everything from Aphex Twin to John Coltrane, with some heavy guitars spread out in between.

If you could bring back one musician from the grave for a day, who and why?
Jimi Hendrix - he was on the verge of some truly heavy shit when he died. He had a meeting scheduled
with the jazz arranger Gil Evans, who was responsible for a lot of Miles Davis's most epic stuff, and
beyond that I could have seen him tearing up some metal or electronic music without even batting an
eye.
