In a monumental shift for the power metal scene, DRAGONFORCE has officially announced the legendary Alissa White-Gluz as their new vocalist and first frontwoman. This dynamic collaboration marks the beginning of an exhilarating chapter for the band, renowned for their blistering speed and unrelenting energy.
As the band gears up for their debut live performances with White-Gluz at the upcoming Welcome To Rockville festival on May 9 and Sonic Temple on May 17, they also celebrate the 20th anniversary of their seminal album, Inhuman Rampage. This groundbreaking release, which introduced the world to the iconic track “Through The Fire And Flames,” not only skyrocketed to platinum status but also spent an impressive 23 consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200.
Co-founder and lead guitarist Herman Li expressed his excitement about this new partnership: “Alissa joining the band is an expansion of everything we've done up to this point. Twenty years is a long time to do anything, let alone survive the music industry and still be so inspired. Together we will honor what made Inhuman Rampage matter while showing people exactly where we're going next. Having Alissa in the room changes everything. She doesn't just sing; she enhances every aspect of our music. I can't wait for the fans to hear what we have been working on.”
Alissa White-Gluz, known for her powerful presence in bands like ARCH ENEMY and THE AGONIST, is poised to infuse DRAGONFORCE's sound with her unmatched range and theatrical flair. With over two decades of experience, she brings a formidable legacy of performance, showcasing a wide array of vocal styles across numerous collaborations and over 2,000 live shows.
On joining DRAGONFORCE, Alissa stated, “I am beyond excited to be bringing such iconic music to life with these amazingly skilled musicians. It feels great to showcase all the colors of my voice in technically challenging, deeply energizing, highly addictive songs. I want to keep pushing my boundaries and delivering exceptional music and live experiences to the fans that I cherish so much.”
Founded in 1999, DRAGONFORCE has consistently redefined the heavy metal landscape, pushing the boundaries of musical possibility.
