The STAR WARS Alter-egos Of DROID
Naturally, with a name like Droid, the Beach metal outfit must have a liking for the classic George Lucas Saga, Droid's vocalist, the affable yet intense Buddy Eason reveals the group's members actually have "Star Wars" names in private, though individuals in the band do not publicly present themselves as having such.
Singer Buddy Eason says of the nicknames from a galaxy far, far away - "We've all got Star Wars names, all the homies. I'm 'Buddy Fett', Jamie, our guitar player with the dreads, he's 'Jamie The Hutt'. Our guitar player Bruce is 'Bruce-3PO,' Nick, our drummer is Nick2-D2 and our bass player Duke is 'Duke Skywalker,' of course. That's so perfect. Our boy Chizza has the best name ever, 'Chizbacca.' We're not running out of names anytime soon, we're having fun with it."
