Krokus - Hellraiser released October 24th
It's 30 years and counting for Switzerland's biggest rock band, Krokus. The October 24 release of Hellraiser on Locomotive Records is cause for celebration by the band's international fan base.
The band-vocalist Marc Storace, lead guitarist Mandy Meyer, bassist Tony Castell, guitarist Dominique Favez and drummer Stefan Schwarzmann-toured the U.S. last year (for the first time since 1988) to great acclaim, performing material from such classic Krokus albums as Metal Rendezvous, Hardware, Headhunter and The Blitz. That got the old creative juices flowing again. The band then hooked up with producer Dennis Ward in a Karlsruhe, Germany studio earlier this year to record the follow-up to 2003's Swiss no. 1 album Rock The Block. Its title track "Hellraiser" comes from the theatrical release of the popular European movie, Handyman.
The re-addition of Meyer to the band is a jolt of adrenaline. Meyer-a former member of Krokus who toured with the band in the ‘80s before going on to join Cobra, Katmandu and Asia-certainly knows the catalog and has had a hand in co-writing some of the new material.
The re-emergence of this great band started in '01 when Storace rejoined the band yet again to tour and record Rock The Block. In 2004, Fire And Gasoline, a double-live CD, burned bright, and even included, in its Euro version, a bonus Live At Montreux DVD.
Krokus has sold the majority of its 10 million records in the U.S.
