Mardo Frontman Designs Original Guitar for Kings X Riff Master Ty Tabor

By jason
Mardo singer/bass player/visual artist Aron Mardo knows how to burn the midnight oil - creatively that is!

Mardo are currently finishing up a grueling tour of the US with Kings X. Mardo frontman Aron, exhausted from sitting, cramped in small vans for weeks at a time, wanted to stretch out and catch up on some much needed R'n'R on the one pit-stop the band were making in Charlotte, NC.
"Everyone was out partying their rocks off, and here's me holed up in my hotel room going stir-crazy. So I put the anger and frustration to good use," says Aron. Noticing Kings's X Ty Tabor's Yamaha guitar propped up in a corner, Aron's creative juices were piqued and he attacked Tabor's Yamaha with a vengeance. Using just metallic ink and his genetic predisposition to the visual arts (his grandfather worked with Andy Warhol) Aron started scrawling on one end of the guitar and fifteen hours later, the masterpiece was completed.

"I was mesmerized. What felt like a short amount of time, ended up being almost a day later, but it was riot to see everyone's reactions." The results of his labor were met with "I want one too" from every musician and crew on the tour. You can see the results of his labor below.
