Jason Ward From Flotsam and Jetsam Fires Back at Eric
As reported a few days ago at The Gauntlet, Flotsam and Jetsam have broken up due to Eric not wanting to tour anymore so he can retain his job. Tonight Jason Ward (bassist) responds:
Well I am surely suprised by that last statement.
Once again we cant seem to keep Ak from communicating to us by any other means than the public one so ... if thats what you want man.
first off, pull your dress up and stop pretending you dont make money in this band. You dont show up unless you do, that is unless you book a show
in fact, you make as much , and sometimes more depending on how much whining is involved.
Last record you made as much as we did and then we added a bit more to keep your vehicle running. Do you remember that? then after months of tour planning , you came here to say your wife wont let you go on tour anymore. To say we lost money and time and some of our dignity to try and save the tour is an understatement when you add the fact that you spent 0 time actually rehearsing with us as we wrote My God.
Not that you are concerned about anyone's life but your own AK, you have been calling the shots now because we are left to do whatever it is you feel like doing, and your attitude and loyalty can shift day by day and second by second.
In fact our last show in Phx. with Hatebreed was set up by you, and the savy agent that you are got us a check for 0 dollars. I was only informed of this fact 24 hours before the show. So when it is convenient for you Eric, you can appear to be into this band and unconcerned with dollars and cents. Your pot shots at the person who has taken care of these details , most responsibly i might add, are at the very least childish and above all selfish. I have taken the position of simply playing bass for this band because if I stop to think about the years that have gone by spending a good portion of my time writing, and actualy rehearsing,
supporting other band memebers living in my home at various times, cars i have givin away to band members, and compare that to the fact that you have not been to a rehearsal in almost 8 years is down right disrespectfull to all who have.
If you now want to drag us all into pity party for you, I will try not to be as offended as i should be, and continue to make music as long as you are man enough to stop being such a collosal prick.
