Mastodon "Seabeast" video details
Mastodon recently completed filming a video for
'Seabeast' from their most recent album, "Leviathan."
The video was shot at the Madison Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia and directed by Jonathan Rej and Tom Bingham. The clip was filmed using a hand-cranked, 35 mm camera, which was used to capture the look and feel of films from the 20s and 30s.
The video retells the story of the conflict between Captain Ahab and the white wale as depicted in Herman Melville's classic novel "Moby Dick."
The video will be the band's third from 2004's "Leviathan." 'Seabeast' will air tonight on the "Headbanger's Ball." "Mastodon: The Workhourse Chronicles" will immediately follow the ball. The said program is an in-depth look at the filming of the band's forthcoming DVD release to be released on February 21.
