As I Lay Dying To Shoot New Video
Phil from As I Lay Dying has posted an update on the bands offtime on their blog as follows:
"I've never posted any sort of 'blog' or anything like that so i thought i'd try it out and let everyone know what's been going on the past few weeks since we finished our headline run. I guess there's not too much say to be perfectly honest. Us and metal blade have been trying to figure out our touring plans for the next year and its looking pretty busy! I'm very excited for what 2006 will offer us.
"To start the year off (hopefully you all already know), we'll be doing 'Taste of Chaos'. If you haven't heard, Deftones, Thrice, Atreyu, Story of the Year, and Dredg will be apart of this tour as well. I'm stoked because i've been a big fan of Deftones and Thrice for a long time. We'll be going on a little bit earlier in the night so be sure to go crazy and show everyone that we have the best fans out there!
"Besides all that, we'll be shooting a new video in a couple weeks for The Darkest Nights with Darren Doane. From what i hear, his vision for the video can best be described as EPIC. It should be good times.
"Until then we'll be going to NAMM this saturday and doing a signing at Carvin after the famous Frank Gambale! If you're interested in becoming a shredder, buy Frank Gambale's Chopbuilder dvd at guitar center. It's a little corny (in a good way) but it will definetly improve your technique. And look how gnarly his shoulder hair is too.
"If you're a guitar player, expect to see some guitar tabs surfacing in the near future. I know a lot of you are interested in learning some songs so i'll try to get those done asap. Also, did any of you see last month's issue of guitar world with jimmy page and jack white on the cover? Nick and I both got our own little sections in there, one of them having a sweet caricature drawing of me rocking some killer boots! At first it bummed me out, but then i embraced the awesome skecher boots the artist decided to draw for me.
"Well, i'm gonna wrap this up. It's 3 in the morning and i've got disneyland tomorrow. It's ok to ride the tea cups and still be metal right? I hope everyone is having a great new year so far and staying true to their new year's resolutions. One of mine is not to step foot or eat anything from McDonald's the whole year. It's more of a new year's resolution for the rest of my life, if that makes sense. Take care everyone and don't be a stranger, if you see any of us around, please say hi!"
