Candlemass nominated for Swedish Grammy

By Darren Cowan
The Gauntlet's # 1 doom band of 2005, Candlemass joins labelmates Meshuggah and Hammerfall for bragging rights to best hard rock album in Sweden.

What better way for CANDLEMASS to end 2005 and start 2006 than with a Swedish Grammy Nomination? Labelmates and countrymen HAMMERFALL and MESHUGGAH also share the glory of being nominated, but only one band will win in the Hard Rock category. The winner will be revealed at the award ceremony on February 7th in Stockholm, Sweden.

In regards to an upcoming performance two weeks later in the very same city, the CANDLEMASS camp has this to say via their official website:

"Unfortunately, the Stockholm gig on February 26th is not happening. Mondo has got problems and we have to pull out, I'm afraid. So don't buy tickets to this one, and if you have already, get your money back! CANDLEMASS will do everything to reschedule; it is important for us to play in our hometown and there will be a gig, but not at Mondo. We will get back to you later with a new date and a new venue."
