Firebird issues update
FIREBIRD bassist Smok Smoczkiewicz has issued the following update:
"We heard that some of you have our last album (Grand Union) already and the feedback we are getting is very, very positive - thanks!
Below are a few lines about our trip to Ireland:
Ireland was supposed to be rainy and wet but when we arrived on the ferry on Thursday, there was no rain to be seen. We got wet and sweaty anyway playing the gig on quite a small stage the same evening. Hallo Dublin! It was a good night and after the show when we eventually checked in to the hotel, me and Bill (Steer) went out for couple of extra drinks. It was not possible to calm down after so much excitement, beer and energy drinks. Strange feeling as we didn't sleep the night before when we left London at 2am for Leeds to collect the equipment and Gentelman's Pistols. So we felt like zombies but still could just go to sleep... but hold on a second? Why Ludde can go to sleep anytime? So easy for him...hmmmm
The next day - Belfast greeted us with more wind and sort of serious atmosphere. The gig was a success and we were very happy to see some old friends. Cork the following day and much appreciated pint of Beamish local stout. In my opinion the best Irish stout. Full of body and dignity in flavour! Fantastic brew! So Mr.Beamish was with us before the gig, during the gig and after the show. Later party in a hostel bar until 4:30am and off the next morning to Limerick. We travelled with Gent's Pistols so the bus was just cracking up with laughter at all times. Sometimes it was just so ridiculous that my jaw was in pain from laughter and I have to say Bill was crying too... haha Well, sadly it's over now, but we are already looking forward to coming back to Ireland at some point. The whole trip was great ! Thanks to James Loveday for bringing us over yet again!"
