DAYLIGHT DIES BEGIN TRACKING NEW ALBUM
Raleigh-based Daylight Dies have started tracking their new album, titled Lost to the Living. The album, expected for release late Spring 2008, is the band's second album with Candlelight Records. Drummer Jesse Haff reports, "drums, acoustic guitars and a solid chunk of the rhythm guitars are now completed. We feel the album is not only our most refined material to date, but also displays our most varied assortment of dark, desperate and melancholic music."
In addition to recording teh band have been confirmed as direct support on the upcoming Candlemass American tour. With dates kicking off May 19, the tour will allow fans new and old opportunity to hear some of the band's new music before it finds official release. "Needless to say we are counting the days until the tour with Candlemass," says Haff. "We are looking forward to performing our guts out across the US."
Formed in 1996, Daylight Dies have grown into a highly respected band. Noted for their electric and acoustic guitar work that further includes dual-vocals all witthin a passionate and heavy sonic atmosphere, the band have developed their growing fanbase via high-profile stateside tours with Lacuna Coil, Katatonia, and Moonspell. In 2006 the band were hand-selected to open for Emperor on their sold out New York City reunion performances. Revolver Magazine says of Dismantling Devotion, the band's second album, "Daylight Dies have one-upped themselves by conjuring an epic slab of gloom metal that's equal parts apoplectic rage and suicidal sorrow." Terrorizer Magazine notes, "Dismantling Devotion overspills with intelligent intensity, an epic journey as thoughtful and compellingly musical as it is bleak and vengeful. Essential."
