METAL! The Book of Heavy Metal has been written. Recreating classic metal hooks from legendary bands like Judas Priest, Accept and Dio, DREAM EVIL bring back metal's splendor. Enlisting the essential aids commanding vocals sung with dexterous clarity, momentous guitar riffs, fluid and furious guitar solos, and monstrously battering drums the band has returned to fans songs that triumphantly unite audiences in heavy metal euphoria. The Book of Heavy Metal is chock-full of soon-to-be chanted anthems and fist-pumping choruses.
To write this definitive tome, the band's third release, heavy metal's revered musicians returned in winter 2003 to Sweden's Studio Fredman (Dark Tranquillity, Arch Enemy). The astounding voice of Niklas Isfeldt drives the band. Fredrik Nordström, metal's premier producer (HammerFall, In Flames, Arch Enemy), keeps the band on track with his forceful guitar rhythms, while young Greek guitar hero Gus G. (Mystic Prophecy, Firewind, Nightrage) whips his fretboard into a wild frenzy. Grounding the band in rhythmic melody are bassist Peter Stålfors and drummer-extraordinaire Snowy Shaw (ex-King Diamond/Mercyful Fate, Notre Dame). The power bestowed upon each member individually fuses to make the band a vibrant and strong unit.
It all begins with Isfeldt's commanding scream "Metal," the brilliant opening of "The Book Of Heavy Metal (March of the Metallians)" (the song for which the band has also filmed a video). From here you are caught up in steady lashing guitar strains. "Into The Moonlight" tells the story of thousands of riders risking their lives in battle; the passion and energy are reflected in the guitars' rhythmic power. Herein lead guitarist Gus G. takes several opportunities to cast his dexterous spell. When "The Sledge" comes down, the harmonic firefight contained within the guitar solo knocks you senseless. "Chosen Twice" introduces an electrifying choral element at once impassioned and compelling. Sending a message of solidarity whether between family, lovers, friends, brothers-in-metal and all ties that bind, DREAM EVIL calls to fans to come together bound by the closing track "Unbreakable Chain." Anthemic, unforgettable, melodic, powerful, uniting; these are reasons why DREAM EVIL has developed a solid fanbase so quickly.
European fans have been fortunate to witness the live majesty of DREAM EVIL. From their 2002 appearance at Germany's distinguished Wacken-Open-Air to their tour in 2003 supporting Hammerfall and Masterplan, DREAM EVIL has never failed to astound its audience. In 2003 the band also invaded Japan twice, along with the United Kingdom . Additionally DREAM EVIL will tour Europe in June of 2004 on the New Found Power Tour supporting the release of The Book Of Heavy Metal.
From the opening strains of title track "The Book Of Heavy Metal" to the ending ballads, DREAM EVIL's might and glory keeps fans enthused. As a bonus, the first pressing of this release will contain a 60-minute DVD that features behind-the-scenes footage. Sit, open and relish every page of The Book of Heavy Metal.
"You and I belong together, we are strong, only the fight remains, united we are strong, but weak on our own, no one can break these chains, no they can not break these chains" - 'Unbreakable Chain'
