One of the latest additions to the challenging Earache roster, Pulkas are sure to please those who enjoy something challenging and extreme, sharpened with a fair splattering of twisted originality into the bargain.

Alerted to Earache's attention by a stand-out demo, the band were an unknown quantity to anyone outside of London, but Pulkas didn't remain anonymous for long, belching out their own distinct brand of sonic torment coming across as a brutal mix of Deftones and Tool. That demo shows what all the fuss is about, with songs like 'This Is It' and 'Control' showcasing perfectly what the band is all about - barely restrained aggression abusing the tired rock formula to the point of indecency. This is extreme music for the Nineties and beyond.

What makes the Pulkas experience so exciting is that the band were signed after less than ten gigs, highlighting the fact that they even after such a short time, the band have already moved one UK magazine to proclaim them as 'the best thing in ages.' Spurred on by such encouragement, the band hit the road hard, creating lasting impressions in the UK, Belgium, Spain before hooking up on the Earache Next Gen98 Tour with Dub War, Misery Loves Co and Janus Stark. The tour took in most of Europe and gave Pulkas even wider exposure.

In between this frenetic live activity, Pulkas found time to record their stunning debut offering, 'Greed.' Produced by Colin Richardson (Machine Head, Fear Factory, Napalm Death), the record captures the aggression and sick-minded philosphy that Pulkas brought to the live stage so effectively. Relentless groovers like 'Loaded', 'Hippy Fascist' and 'Rubber Room' immediately identify Pulkas with the best of late '90s alterna-metal - powerful, danceable and effortlessly listenable.
