In a time where most metal/hard rock acts seem to all be spawn from the same melting pot, a band has emerged from the most unlikely of all places to put forth a musical offering that can truly claim it's own identity. Indianola, Iowa, which is the neighbor of the now more know Des Moines, Iowa, is home to Index Case. Open fields and gravel roads surround the band's practice space and recording studio, which has produced the audible experience that is "The Weak And The Wounded", the band's 3nd full-length, self-produced offering. On first sight of the Dex Inn recording studio, one would believe that life in Iowa is one of simplistic delight with a touch of Norman Rockwell. Those who would believe so should take a listen to "The Weak And The Wounded" and then re-evaluate their take on small town Midwestern life.

"The Weak And The Wounded" is an incredibly gifted musical offering of absolute rage, darkness, deception, melody and depression mixed with the burning desir! e to bring forth a message. And that is just the record. To see Index Case live is a visual and audible experience that is second to none. The pure intensity and musical ability forces the pulse to race with every pounding note.

Vocalist Joe Ansley's vocals and lyrical content are intelligent, original and piercing with depth and frustration. Ansley's ability to twist spoken word, dark melodies and screaming gives Ansley a self-labeled sound that can claim no comparison.

Josh Parker's guitar work is emotional and innovative, from taste-filled melodic riffs and acoustic work, to the bone crushing metal grooves, Parker shows his writing, playing and performing ability goes way beyond the standard of one-finger, drop D tuning that has now seemed to plague so many of todays new metal bands.

Jordan Spence's drumming speaks for itself. To listen is to believe, to see him play is to be astonished. Calculating and precise with a major attitude, Spence is an unde! niable power on the kit that drives the Index Case musical machine.

Newest member, Nick Borror's bass playing ability is that of a seasoned vetran. His previous experience in the music world has been broad and very diverse. His stage energy and his willingness to experiment musicaly bring an extra spice to the formula of the band.

Index Case has proven over and over again that they're ready for the next level. Opening for several national acts including: Papa Roach, P.O.D., Rob Zombie, Disturbed, Static-X, American Headcharge, Primer 55, Adema, Stone Sour, Lost Prophets & Nonpoint, Index Case has always stepped up and blown away any pre-conceived notion of what a "local band" should look, perform and sound like. Their music has been consistently requested on several commercial radio stations such as KXXR in Minneapolis and KAZR in Des Moines. Also, in 2002 Index Case made a stunning mark at college and metal nationwide radio, landing Top 15 chartings on CMJ, The Album Network and FMQB. Index Cas! e has also inked a licensing deal with Pepsi Co.'s AMP Energy Drink, who supported the band in their 2002 U.S. Tour which saw Index Case invading Los Angeles, San Francisco, Phoenix, Tempe, Austin, Minneapolis, New Jersey and many more. On the heels of that tour Index Case filmed a commercial spot for AMP Energy Drink in their hometown of Des Moines, IA.

In 2003, look for more of the same from Index Case. More and more radio support, bigger and broader tours, a new musical offering in "The Weak And The Wounded" that takes the band muscially to the next step, more film projects and music videos as well as a new live show setup that is sure to please the Index Case following.
