Bleeding Through parts ways with guitarist
BLEEDING THROUGH has issued the following update:
"Now that we're home and rested up from Europe we have some news to share with you. Our good friend Dave Nassie — who many of you will recognize not only from NO USE FOR A NAME, INFECTIOUS GROOVES and a brief stint with SUICIDAL TENDENCIES but from Brandan's [Schieppatti, vocals] side project, THE INNOCENT, as well — has joined BLEEDING THROUGH on guitar.
"Jona Weinhofen, who joined BLEEDING THROUGH two years ago, told us during our North American headliner that he would be leaving the band. As he put it, while he enjoyed his time with us, he missed Australia and of course our well-documented financial struggles last year due to Trustkill Records' lack of timely commitment to their contractual obligations (which continue; they are 90 days late on royalties) all led to his decision.
"We love Jona and we appreciate his contribution to BLEEDING THROUGH and his work on our new album, 'Declaration'. He did agree to complete his touring obligations with us which concluded with the Thrash And Burn Tour in Europe. Jona filling in for BRING ME THE HORIZON came up later, as he explained to us, and we take Jona's word at face value on that.
"Moving forward, we're excited to welcome Dave to the band, we're excited about the rest of the touring we have planned for this year as well as completing a new record deal and making new music.
"With a new publishing deal with Sony in place, a merch deal with Warner Music Group and a new album deal on the horizon, the business of BLEEDING THROUGH is shaping up to allow us to continue making this music that we love and that we love making FOR YOU for a long time.
"Thanks for all of the support over the years. The best is yet to come!"
Jona has also issued a statement regarding his departure from BLEEDING THROUGH:
"After a lot of soul searching in the past six months, I have decided to leave BLEEDING THROUGH. It was a difficult decision and one that I'd hoped would not impact on the band too greatly.
"I've lived in California and toured the world with BLEEDING THROUGH for the past two years and I would not trade that for anything.
"One of the unfortunate things about relocating internationally is that you're always left wondering what you're missing out on back home where you are from. I have great friends and family whose lives I have not been an active part of for the last two years and I miss them and my home country greatly.
"BLEEDING THROUGH is one of the strongest bands I have ever known, they have obviously overcome the most extreme obstacles and nothing will deter them from doing what they love. They are a band of heart!
"For the next few months I will be filling in for my friends BRING ME THE HORIZON, before returning home to Australia.
"Thank you, Marta, Brandan, Ryan, Brian, Derek and everyone else involved with BLEEDING THROUGH in one way or another, for teaching me a lot about music, friendship and life, and for giving me an amazing two years."
