CHROME WAVES Premieres "Spoonfed" Single As Band Prepares To Release Second LP, "Where We Live", Next Week!

Chrome Wavse Central US post-black metal outfit CHROME WAVES will release their second album, "Where We Live", through Disorder Recordings next week. With the LP's release closing in, Treble presents its latest single, "Spoonfed."

An album full of dynamic aggression and brooding melody, CHROME WAVES' "Where We Live" offers six new songs which delve further into post-black metal and post-rock territory. The lineup for the album sees new drummer Dustin Boltjes (Demiricous, Wretch, ex-Skeletonwitch) joining James Benson (Amiensus), and Jeff Wilson (Deeper Graves, ex-Nachtmystium, ex-Wolvhammer). The drums were recorded by Daniel Farnsworth at Gravity Studio in Chicago (Smashing Pumpkins, Veruca Salt, Josh Homme), and the rest of the album was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Jeff Wilson at Disorder Recordings. The album features guest contributions of cello from Christopher Brown (Kakophonix) and vocals from Kim Dylla (ex-GWAR) and is completed with art and layout by Brian Sheehan/Legerdemain.

As the new "Where We Live" single "Spoonfed" is issued, James Benson offers, "'Spoonfed' was written from the perspective of my 'real job.' For the past seven years I've been working as a drug and alcohol counselor; specifically, working with opiate addiction for the past six years. It's a terrible epidemic affecting not only the United States but hitting the Midwest especially hard over the last decade. I'd like to dedicate this song to those who are suffering from addiction, especially to opioids.

Treble writes with the song's premiere, "It's a gloomy, atmospheric track with strings and goth-rock guitars, building up into a heavier goth-metal dirge. It's melancholy and atmospheric, just in time for Fall."
