GRIDFAILURE, Echoes And Dust Premieres "Outlander Harvesters" Video

G ridfailure New York's GRIDFAILURE has created a video from the outfit's new album, Sixth Mass-Extinction Skulduggery II - the second title in an ongoing five-album concept series - which saw release in June through Nefarious Industries. The video for "Outlander Harvesters" sees its premiere through an Echoes And Dust interview feature.

Performed/arranged, recorded, mixed, and completed with artwork by GRIDFAILURE's creator David Brenner, Sixth Mass-Extinction Skulduggery II was mastered by Dan Emery at Black Matter Mastering in Nashville, Tennessee (Kool Keith, Benjamin Tod, Krieg, Thetan).

Among the many guest contributors who supplied elements to Sixth Mass-Extinction Skulduggery II, the "Outlander Harvesters" track sees Brenner joined by Mac Gollehon (David Bowie, Madonna, Miles Davis, Blondie, Onyx), Benjamin Levitt (Megalophobe), and Richard Muller (The Third Kind, Vise Massacre, The Last Crime), all of whom live in the immediate NYC area. The video for the song was filmed by each guest remotely during the early days of the COVID-19 quarantine, after which all footage was edited and mangled by Brenner.

The feature at Echoes And Dust includes an extensive interview on the GRIDFAILURE process, writing in part, "GRIDFAILURE makes music that is as harsh and unsettling as it is hypnotic so it is quite apt that their dystopian noise has yielded their crushing, latest album Sixth Mass-Extinction Skulduggery II on Nefarious Industries during these uncertain and unprecedented times."

A limited physical line of the Sixth Mass-Extinction Skulduggery titles is in the works. Watch for the third instalment to see release in the coming months. GRIDFAILURE recently released its split album with Chrome Waves, and is immersed in collaborative albums with Megalophobe, Fyrhtu, Pornohelmut, Feel Happiness, Interstitia, Rack, Tovarish, Mac Gollehon, and more.

As resources are depleted, so are morals. This is the underlying theme of GRIDFAILURE's Sixth Mass-Extinction Skulduggery II. Marauding factions, societal collapse, revenge, organ harvesting, nuclear warfare, pandemic contagion, devastating weather events, dystopian rule, cannibalism for survival, and other grim topics poetically permeate this intense album which fully envisions the extreme, anti-genre, experimental vision more than any prior release from GRIDFAILURE to date, and even infuses elements recorded outdoors and in extreme weather events.

Sixth Mass-Extinction Skulduggery II features contributions from GRIDFAILURE live collaborators Benjamin Levitt (Megalophobe), Greg Meisenberg (Oxx, Maid Myriad, A Fucking Elephant), and Richard Muller (The Third Kind, Vise Massacre, Great Planes), as well as Mac Gollehon (David Bowie, Miles Davis, Onyx, Madonna, Blondie), Liz Ciavarella-Brenner (House Of Pajamas), Faith Ciavarella, Pete Tsakiris, Leila Abdul-Rauf (Vastum, Fyrhtu), Nathan Verrill (Fyrhtu, Cardinal Wyrm), No One (T.O.M.B., Dreadlords), Clayton Batholomew (Mountaineer, ex-Secrets Of The Sky), Dave Small (Cutworm), Christian Molenaar (Those Darn Gnomes), Lane Oliver (Feel Happiness, Yatsu), Christopher Henry (Fuck Your Birthday, Humans Etcetera), Jeff Wilson (Chrome Waves), Matt Bacon, Andrew Hess, and Chuck Schaaf (Deadbird, ex-Rwake) and his family Star, Izzie, and Mason Schaaf.
