CLOAK land on Decibel Magazine's top 40 albums of 2017

CLOAK Atlanta, GA's metal quartet CLOAK have landed on the annual Decibel Magazine list of the top 40 metal albums of year. The band's debut album 'To Venomous Depths' has seen a placement at #20. Hailed as "a sound that in time will develop into something exquisite...Conviction - It's prevalent in every chord Cloak strum, every Sean Bruneau drum hit and every Matt Scott Bass lick" (Decibel Magazine), and "timeless heavy metal thunder tinged with an underlying current of shamelessly melodic death and black metal that sashays into Satyricon-esque black 'n' roll when the mood strikes" (Noisey), 'To Venomous Depths' is available across various CD and LP formats here. The album is also streaming across Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music and more!

The band recently unveiled a music video for the track titled "The Hunger". The video, directed and shot by the band and David Parham, is streaming now, here.

CLOAK are embarking on tour across the East Coast. A full list of confirmed tour dates can be found below.

Recorded at Aria Studios in Marietta, GA with producer Joey Jones (ROYAL THUNDER, SOUR VEIN), CLOAK capture the magic, mystique, and mystery of classic heavy metal with their long-awaited debut 'To Venomous Depths'. Drawing from metal's most impactful sub genre's, the quartet distill their collective influences into an enthralling full-album experience that honors the spirit of the early classics while standing firmly in the now. Captivating tracks like "Beyond the Veil", "Deep Red", "Forever Burned" and the tile track are riveted with somber harmonies, driving rhythms, and dramatic builds in momentum and suspense. CLOAK's bold and blackened metal teems with dark energy, and 'To Venomous Depths' is a testament to the genreā€™s primal power and magic.

1. To Venomous Depths/Where No Light Shines
2. Within the Timeless Black

Established in 2013, CLOAK initially locked themselves away, carefully preparing the band's debut material. A mere two years later, the band released their first demo (Demo 2015) and created waves in the American underground. Following the release of the demo, a two song self-titled EP was unleashed earlier this year, and saw the band receiving critical acclaim both locally at Creative Loafing (Atlanta), and across several international metal media outlets such as Metal Hammer, Decibel Magazine, No Clean Singing, and many more. In their short time as a band, CLOAK have already shared the stage with bands such as WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM, KYLESA, WINDHAND, INTER ARMA, TAAKE and more.
