SICOCIS RELEASE NEW VIDEO FOR “DAWN OF THE FINAL DAY”
It marks an ideal time to release the fourth video clip from the band’s full-length, Requiem of the World, released earlier this year. “Dawn of the Final Day” is an epic song with a video equal in nature and completes a sampling of tracks into the group’s dark and apocalyptic concept, yet also giving hope.
Singer/guitarist Ernie Rodrigues comments, “This was the most difficult video we have filmed to date, but I think it is our best yet. Sicocis works hard to bring you nothing but the best, and here it is. This is our last video for Requiem of the World… the last Requiem if you will. We wanted to evoke the feelings and emotions of events yet to come, and some events that have already seen the light of day. You may never know when you will wake up and witness the Dawn of the Final Day. You may never know when you will take your last breath, and sing the Last Requiem of this World. On this day, we bring forth the darkness, because the time has in fact come. This however is not the last line written, but it is in fact, a new beginning.”
The Vegas band toured the US and Canada last spring in support of Russia’s ARKONA and Norway’s SIRENIA and have since played random dates regionally with EXMORTUS, and labelmates HELSOTT, APOTHESARY and EMPYREAN THRONE.
In addition, tonight marks the last date with drummer Rob McDonald, who has to step down due to personal commitments, and the band are looking for a new drummer able to tour with the group as they continue working on their follow-up release for next year. Sicocis are a Las Vegas based band who’ve risen in the scene by winning local Battle of the Bands and were voted Best Metal Band in Vegas by Vegas Rocks magazine, as well as sharing the stage with the likes of Devin Townsend, Dark Tranquillity, Kamelot, Amaranthe, Tesseract, Kataklysm, Dragonforce, Pain of Salvation, Insomnium, Swallow the Sun and many more. Sicocis blends influences from the melodic death metal, epic power metal and dark, progressive scenes creating their own unique and modern sound.
“This record is truly epic, it isn’t just a conglomeration of tracks to build a body of music. Like a film, it is one cohesive body of work that stirs your emotions in a way that can be described as “musically cinematic “. Requiem of the World is an open and ever-flowing record that floats through air and crashes into your psyche with a lasting impression. Sicocis sets the tone not only for the future of prog metal, but the bright career path they’ve carved for themselves.” – Metal Assault
“This album has really nice flow. I haven’t heard an album that blended speed, aggression, progressive parts, keyboards all so seamless into to exciting songwriting for a long time. They avoid just randomly throwing weird parts in, just because they can (something some prog bands suffer from) but in the cases of Sicocis, the song comes first. I am hooked. This is a truly cohesive piece of heavy art start to finish.” – Metal-Rules
