DEVASTATION announce Nov 24th release of "Dispensable Bloodshed"
DEVASTATION – Dispensable Bloodshed (VIC141CD)
For many underground musicians and fans there is only one Devastation from the USA. The one from Chicago, one of the fouding fathers of Extreme (death) metal. The first demo features vocalist Troy Dixler, who was one of the first singers using the growl / grunt, nowadays the normal death metal vocal style. Back then his ultra-low growls were revolutionary. Dixler formed Sindrome after he left Devastation. The band recorded another demo in 1986 and an unreleased LP in 1987 named ‘Dispensible Bloodshed’. The two cult demos from 1986 and the unreleased 1987 Lp are nog avalaible on Cd. The massive 20 pages booklet contains extensive liner notes by Laurent Ramadier (Snakepit mag, liner notes for Repulsion, Hexx) and many notes from worldwide underground musicians like: Bob Bagchus (ex Ashpyx / Soulburn), Kam Lee (ex-Death / Massacre), Fenriz (Darkthrone), Michael Amott (Arch Enemy), LG Petrov (Entombed / Nihilist), Jeff Beccera (Possessed), Jonas Bjorler (At the Gates), Mitch Harris (Napalm Death) and many more. All were influenced by DEVASTATION.
