Undercroft's "The Seventh Hex" is out now.
UNDERCROFT, a name that is very well known when it comes to the Chilean metal music arena. The beginning of Undercroft is marked by the appearance of their mythical demos, released during the 1992-93 era. The demo releases were soon followed by two old school rooted death/thrash metal releases — “Twisted Souls” and “Bonebreaker”. After taking a short break and undergoing some lineup changes, Undercroft offered one of their best works to date “Danza Macabra”. Released in August, 2000, the third full length brought more of the power and force that had already started to characterize the band’s punishing sound. A complete Chilean tour took place upon the release of the album, which helped the band to perform at the most prestigious venues in Santiago and the other Chilean cities.
The success of “Danza Macabre” influenced Undercroft to expand their frontiers. With heavy hearts, the band made the hard the decision to leave Chile for Europe in March, 2001. They released the fourth full length “Evilusion” in 2002 with the acclaimed Swedish producer Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, In Flames, Behemoth, Dark Funeral, Stuck Mojo, and among others). The full length was followed by a returning tour in Chile, including a performance in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Returning to Europe, the band underwent to an invasion in countries like Sweden, Germany, Poland and Belgium in November, 2002. Their performance at the prestigious Fuck Christmas Festival in Hamburg, Germany was unleashed as a live album in 2004, under the title of “Bastard Live Hammer”. In between 2006 to 2009, they came up with another full length, entitled as “Lethally Growing”, and another Chilean tour. Season of Mist signed the horde for their 6th full length “Ruins of Gomorrah”, which was again recorded, mixed and mastered under the control of Daniel Bergstrand. The album got highly positive responses from the critics and the fans.
After 05 years since the last opus, Undercroft is ready to offer their 7th full length “The Seventh Hex”, comprised of nice aggressive death/thrash metal. Undercroft has crafted much more intense sound than ever with their blending of grueling brutal death metal and groovy thrash metal elements. The pattern of the music is unpredictable, and it gets more bizarre and more neck-wrecking while getting tempered with the rage invoking voice of Alvaro Lillo — the guy who has been taking care of the live bass duty of Watain since 2007. In a nutshell, this album is a marriage of fierce brutal death metal and violent groove metal.
