TYPE O NEGATIVE, SEVENTH VOID and AGNOSTIC FRONT Members Join Forces In SILVERTOMB
Formed in the wake of Type O Negative and Seventh Void, SILVERTOMB is the latest musical endeavor of guitarist-vocalist Kenny Hickey (Type O Negative, Seventh Void, drummer Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative, Danzig), bassist Hank Hell (Seventh Void, Inhuman) along with New York City hardcore veteran Joseph James, (Agnostic Front, Inhuman) on guitar, and Aaron Joos (Awaken The Shadow, Empyreon) on keyboards, guitar, and backing vocals. Silvertomb combine the musical styles of bands such as Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath with a bone crushing, mind blowing sonic experience. Kenny Hickey describes the sound of Silvertomb as "heavy, dark and spiritual - like a dark gospel."
Silvertomb will make its performance debut on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Starland Ballroom, a popular concert venue located in Sayreville, Middlesex County, New Jersey, as part of the ongoing Ride for Dime benefit. Ride For Dime Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization that honors the lives of guitar hero and friend, "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, Jeff Thompson, Nathan Bray, and Erin Halk.
Ride for Dime proudly gives back to charities that were of interest to Darrell during his life as well as charities he would have been proud to be a part of, including Little Kids Rock, Toys For Tots, IAVA and many more. Originally formed in Arlington, Texas, in 2005 by Darrell’s friends and family, the organization has now grown to having chapters nationwide, that all hold their own events with proceeds going directly to The RFD Scholarship Fund, dedicated to furthering the music education of America's youth.
"I'm really looking forward to taking in part in the New Jersey Ride For Dime. It's gonna be a great event with a lot of cool bands all playing for charity and for celebrating the music and life of Dime! I'm excited about debuting the new band Silvertomb at RFD as well. Thanks to Rita (Haney) & the RFD organizers for the invite. Rock & Roll, bikes and booze! What more could you want? See you on the 26th!" said Johnny Kelly.
"I've never had a bad show at Starland Ballroom. The energy is always there, and the sound on and off stage is great. I couldn't think of a better place for our first performance," said Kenny Hickey.
