Cyhra: Supergroup Formed by Former Members of In Flames and Amaranthe

Former In Flames members Peter Iwers (bass) and Jesper Strömblad have teamed up with former Amaranthe singer Joacim "Jake E" Lundberg and Luca Turilli’s Rhapsody drummer Alex Landenburg to form Cyhra.

The collective entered Top Floor Studios in Gottenburg, Sweden to begin recordng its debut album, which is slated for a fall 2017 release.

"The vast experience all four of us have gathered during our times in previous bands creates the perfect background for unlimited inspiration and a result of highly mastered musical craftsmanship,” the band said in a recent statement. “The songs; as hard as it is right now to put a description on them, they are a mix of all that... yet something completely new!"

Added Jake: "The excitement I feel about Cyhra is over the top. I have to pinch myself every day to make sure it's not just another dream. I am so proud of the music we have created and I can't wait to show it to the world!"
"For the first time for as long as I can remember, I feel I am a part of something special,” Strömblad said. “This band has helped me regain my true passion for music. I can't wait to share this to the world!"

Jake E departed from Amaranthe in February, stating that he began to feel that his place on the albums and live was “reduced.” He further adds: “I felt like I was superfluous… I started to feel more like a backing singer."

Iwers departed from In Flames "to pursue other endeavors,” while Strömblad quit In Flames in February in 2010 to receive treatment for alcoholism. He went on to form The Resistance with Marco Aro (The Haunted), and Glenn Ljungström (former In Flames).
