Grindcore Troupe, The Drip, Set to Release New Album
Powerviolence quintet, The Drip, announced their debut full-length release, The Haunting Fear of Inevitability, and premiered a new track from the album, “Painted Ram,” which can be viewed below.
A fist-to-cuff of Crust, Powerviolence, d-Beat, and Grindcore, The Haunting Fear of Inevitability sees the band amalgamating these influences and more in thirteen tracks, set to be released through Relapse Records.
“The Haunting Fear of Inevitability represents our progression, and continues to blur genre lines, and define our sound, laying down the groundwork for our future material to come,” the band said.
The Haunting Fear of Inevitability is a frenzy of riffs and blast beats seamlessly integrated with stellar production, courtesy of the legendary engineer, Brad Boatright (Skeletonwitch, Gatecreeper, Weekend Nachos). The album will see release January 13th, 2017, and will be available through all the usual channels, including iTunes.
Formed nearly a decade ago in Washington State, The Drip emerges a musical pedigree, weaned on the music of Napalm Death, Terrorizer, Rotten Sound, and Brutal Truth.
The band’s modern take on these sounds caught the attention of label Grindcore Karaoke (Jay Randall--Agoraphobic Nosebleed, et. al), who released The Drip’s self-titled debut EP. Relapse then picked up the band’s A Presentation of Gruesome Politics EP, which was produced by Joel Grind of Toxic Holocaust.
The band’s legendary live performances have been witnessed in their touring excursions with the likes of Pig Destroyer, Napalm Death, Poison Idea, Magrudergrind, Black Breath and more, and they’ve also appeared at Denver’s Black Sky Festival, Crucial Fest, and Southwest Terror Fest.
The viciously talented troupe will likely hit a few cities in the near year in support of the new album, and you can keep up with all The Drip hapenings at their official Facebook.com page
