Overview: Scorched - "Echoes of Dismemberment"

scorched I love Halloween. Particularly the movies, especially the ones that came out in the 80's. The intro to the album "To the Chamber" sets the tone and gets you ready for the gore fest extravaganza. The following track "Craving Human Remnants" is just an echo of sound - like a noble tribute to the big four monsters of mayhem Slayer. What's interesting to me straight off the bat is that there is a huge reverb thrown onto the vocals while the guitars are right up front. That being said, Jeff Hannemen (God rest his metal soul) would be flattered and humbled at the same time at the way that the lead guitarist is throwing it down. I wish the reverb was dialed back and the brought a little bit more up front sound wise. They say that imitation is just another form of flattery but I'm throwing up four horns for this dude. \m/ \m/! I miss Jeff a whole bunch and hearing this is wonderful. The harmonized artificial harmonics are giving me a boner. Sorry to be lude but suck it if you don't like it.

This record as a whole prompts me to turn my home into a haunted house for trick r treaters in effort to blast this out the front door. And now for a final thought I shall conclude this review with a note on the track "Torture Prolonged". The intro sounds a lot like the intro to a signature track on the album "South Side Of Heaven" by Slayer……just putting it out there folks. On the bright side I think it's a nice touch. I am interested in what you the reader thinks.
