After various line-up changes and a long break thereafter, the band regrouped at the beginning of 2015. A Demo Tape followed in 2015.
The debut album "Infinite Circles" has been released in June 2016. Even if their sound-range has widened since the beginnings, BETRAYAL remains true to DEATH METAL.
BETRAYAL have a significant preference for the overwhelming legacy of US originators Death, as one hears quickly in the often similar liquid songs of the fit German Quartet.
The stylistically interesting intersection of the audibly enthusiastic formation around shouter Alex quotes in an original way established acts such as At The Gates, Hypocrisy and Edge Of Sanity. Early Arch Enemy may also be used as a cross reference.
Sophisticated technical and rhythmic parts alternate with brutal riffs, melodies and thundering blast-beat attacks. At this point, BETRAYAL is more motivated than ever to persuade the audience live and on record.
MEDIA FEEDBACK for BETRAYAL "Infinite Circles":
5 / 5
(Harte Musik.de)
9 / 10
"I have never heard such a brutal blend of noble heaviness, technical magic without being boring, feeling and, to re-use a previous adjective, savagery … I recommend this album to everyone who is into intelligent Melodic Death Metal."

(Metal Aschaffenburg)
7,8 / 10
"Very technical Death Metal, very varied, with an alternating classic and devastating side to melody … in a lethal mix of American and Scandinavian sounds for being out of breath … the group therefore does not fail to surprise with brilliant ideas ('The Shell' includes an atmospherically, beautiful sax) and scores from intricate progressive references, to please a little all fans of extreme music … with references to Soilwork, Darkane, Death and the first Opeth … recommended."

(Metal.de)
"BETRAYAL is a promising melodic Death Metal new-blood hailing from Aschaffenburg, Germany … their new album 'Infinite Circles' is one of the most impressive debuts I’ve heard this year, mixing the technicality and high/low vocal attack of The Black Dahlia Murder, the venom and dynamism of Arsis along with some proggy undertones that call to mind bands like Extol, all firmly rooted by a very The Absence-esque dedication to the best of tried and true melodic Death Metal convention.“
(No Clean Singing)
"… reasonably can provoke the listener to maximum headbang."
(IRS Radio)
"BETRAYAL display a fusion of brutal Death Metal and Melodic Death Metal with riffs leaning towards Black Metal … I’ve mentioned extreme music kind of lost its edge with its mainstream acceptance, but BETRAYAL is an example of how to become accessible while holding on to your roots … the band combines these elements in an unforced forward thrust that sounds undeniably convincing from start to finish."
(Dave Wolff - Autoeroticasphyxium Zine)
"BETRAYAL is a band that deserves all the credits that are assigned, are young and will remain for many years, we hear a lot about them." (Som Do Rock)
