EXALT: New Single Leans on 90's and Melody: Listen Here!
"The great news is the album is chock full of heavy groove you will want to set on repeat, the bad news is what will happen to your neck after a few listens."
–Metal Injection
"Crushing brutality... Brief reveries of melody and oddly sweet serenades..."
–Pure Grain Audio
"Exalt weave together bone-breaking metallic hardcore with moody atmosphere... The Shape You Took Before the Ache marks the beginning of an exciting shift for this band..."
–Svbterranean
Canadian crushers Exalt present new single "Worship," premiered today via New Noise. "Worship" is the third single off upcoming album The Shape You Took Before the Ache, our September 9th on Good Fight Music in the US, and on New Damage Records throughout the rest of the world.

New album The Shape You Took Before the Ache sees Exalt deliver massive, minimalist chunks of metallic hardcore, laced with eerie melody. The ominous sound bears some hints of the '90s works of Godflesh and Deftones, while still grounded in the here and now, in league with the heaviest of today's hardcore heroes, like Code Orange and Harm's Way.
Of the new single, Exalt frontman Tyler Brand says, "'Worship' was a new venture for us as a band. It was a song less focused on being heavy, being aggressive, but more so it was a song focused on being a song, in a classic structural sense. We tried to utilize what we had as band to do something a bit uncomfortable and different for us."
The Shape You Took Before the Ache was produced by Pete Grossman and Andy Nelson at Bricktop Recording (Harm's Way, Weekend Nachos) and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Nails, Ringworm).
