A Province of Thay: Atonement
Seattle's critically acclaimed A PROVINCE OF THAY will release their latest EP Atonement via Glory Kid Records on October 28th 2016. The album is an amazing blend of doom and goth rock that takes the melodies of The Cure and combines them with heavy metal, into a unique whole.
About A Province of Thay
A Province of Thay is a Seattle-based post-metal band that balances aggression with ambience, a melody and muscle. With musical backgrounds ranging from hardcore, doom metal, indie rock, and electronic music, the band has created a unique blend of darkness and light. The band's debut album The Grieving was self-released in 2013, comprised of 5 songs that juxtapose melodic vocals and narrative lyrics with intricate extended song structures. After slowly building a hometown audience (playing with bands like Year of No Light, Braveyoung, Set & Setting, He Whose Ox Is Gored, and others), they embarked on a 10-day, 9-state DIY tour with Tacoma’s Lo’ There Do I see My Brother in summer of 2014, spreading their sound across the West. The band recently wrapped up sessions for their second album, Atonement which will be released on October 28 2016. The new record finds the group honing their style: They have expanded the atmospheric elements that help them stand apart from their more metal-influenced peers, without weakening the heavy backbone of their compositions. If anything, Atonement is darker, more intense, and harder-hitting than its predecessor.
Atonement line-up:
