King Parrot: Australia's Fav Grind Sons
KING PARROT draws influence from the thrash, grind, hardcore and punk scenes of the ’80s and ’90s and has pillaged its way to international recognition since their inception in 2010. The band continues to tour in support of their latest full-length, Dead Set, released in North America via Housecore Records last year. Captured by Philip H. Anselmo and Michael Thompson with Steve Berrigan at the infamous Nodferatu’s Lair (Down, Eyehategod, Superjoint Ritual et al) in Louisiana, KING PARROT’s Dead Set crushes the weak with ten grind-laden, punk-infused odes of defiant audio savagery bedecked in the dark, cynical humor for which the band has become notorious.
Dead Set is out now in North America via Housecore Records. Digital orders are available at THIS LOCATION. Physical orders are available HERE.
“KING PARROT don’t care that you’re snappy dresser, or smart as a whip, or have enough money to buy pussy for an eternity. They’re a grindcore band—actually more than that—with an all-fun, no bullshit disposition…on their second album… KING PARROT are yet again the proverbial cunts they set out to be. They’re just heavier this time.” — Decibel
“There’s more of a chaotic live feel to this album… you can almost feel the flying spit and beer of a raging punk show oozing from the speakers.” – Metal Injection
“Dead Set is reminiscent of the groovier moments of Pig Destroyer, which, is no small amount of praise… The band manages to bring plenty of fury, but it’s the slower, more textured sequences that really make the album a standout. Sophomore efforts are often pushed as ‘harder, heavier, faster,’ but here, KING PARROT decides not to just be angry all over again, and instead gives listeners the evil they crave.” — MetalSucks
“…35 minutes of pure, unbridled insanity.” – Metal Assault
“If you don’t headbang to this, you need to join a country band!” – Skulls ‘N’ Bones
