HALCYON WAY Announce European Record Deal With Massacre Records

Halcyon Way HALCYON WAY are pleased to announce that they have signed a multi-album contract with Massacre Records for Europe and the rest of the world, and have re-signed with Nightmare Records in North America. The band's new album Conquer is due for release later this year.

Guitarist Jon Bodan commented on the signings:

"We are very, very excited to announce that we have signed a multi-album deal with the legendary Massacre Records for Europe and the rest of the world, and we have re-signed with our good friends at Nightmare Records for the North American release of our new album, "Conquer". We cannot wait for this new album to come out and for you guys to hear it. It's the heaviest thing we have ever done, the catchiest thing we've ever done, and we are incredibly excited to get it in your hands."

HALCYON WAY was founded in 2001 and released its successful debut album "A Manifesto For Domination" in 2008 (via Nightmare Records).

HALCYON WAY started working on the second album "Building The Towers" in 2009, which was released in autumn 2010, once again receiving fantastic reviews. "IndoctriNation" the band's third album, followed in later 2011.

In spring 2012, HALCYON WAY went on their largest tour yet, which led them through 9 countries in Europe and the UK, along with Delain. Another highlight in the band's live history is the 2-week US/Canada tour with U.D.O. in April 2013, the 32-day US/Canada tour as direct support for Saxon and Fozzy as well as support shows for Fates Warning in the US.

HALCYON WAY's sound cannot be neatly slotted into any sub-category of metal; but it can be described as heavy, catchy, technical, and above all, focused on mature song craft.

The band draws influences & inspiration from many metal bands from Megadeth to Dream Theater, Testament or Chimaira.

The focus of the songwriting is on catchy hooks, vocal harmonies à la King's X or Stryper, and on heavy, technical, but ultimately accessible instrumentation.

Although these are many disparate influences, the net result is a brand of metal that is immediately familiar and comfortable to the listener, yet strangely hard to define.
