Metalachi to Headline the End of Summer Metal Fest
Metalachi - The World's First And Only Heavy Metal Mariachi Band bring their world renowned stage show to Vex Arts to headline the End of Summer Metal Fest on Saturday August 24th in Los Angeles. The Vex is widely recognized as a historic landmark in the history of the West Coast punk scene and served as a launching pad for many Southern California bands from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Suicidal Tendencies, Social Distortion and more.
Hailing from Hollywood California via Juarez Mexico, Metalachi is a musical/comedy stage show that somehow seamlessly blends the world of Spinal Tap and Cheech & Chong into an over-the-top stage spectacle. Now considered to be one of the fastest growing shows in the US, Metalachi has garnered worldwide acclaim for their unique brand of raucous humor and innovative musical mastery.
The group is a 5-piece ensemble of classically trained mariachi musician brothers, that have been fused together with the power of heavy metal. Voted one of the best live shows in Southern California by Examiner.com, Metalachi takes their cues from outrageous stage shows like KISS, Gwar and Rob Zombie with outrageous costumes, stage production, personas and onstage antics. The band features Vega De La Rockha on vocals, Maximilian "Dirty" Sanchez on violin, Poncho Rockafeller on guitarron, Ramon Holiday on guitar, El Cucuy on trumpet and is managed by mysterious impresario Warren Moscow.
Fans can expect an unlikely meshing of metal classics from artist such as Metallica, Slayer, Ozzy Osbourne and more with traditional mariachi standards from the likes of Vicente Fernandez and Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan ...all played with traditional mariachi instrumentation.
Metalachi will be supported by local bands Government Trap, Clepto, DIA (Dio Tribute) and Black Sabbitch (female Black Sabbath Tribute). Doors open at 6pm and this is a 18 and over show. Admission is $15 at the door. The Vex Arts is located at 5240 Alhambra Ave. Los Angeles CA, 90032
