Varg Vikernes And Wife Released From Police Custody
Vikernes and his wife Marie Cachet were arrested on Tuesday at their home in a village in the central Correze region of France. The couple were held on Tuesday over fears Vikernes was planning a massacre.
A police spokesman has just stated that Marie Cachet, wife of Varg Vikernes, and Varg have been released from police custody following two days in lockup. No charges were filed.
Vikernes and his wife Marie Cachet were arrested on Tuesday at their home in a village in the central Correze region of France following a legal purchase of 4 .22 caliber rifles by Marie.
Interior Minister Manuel Valls conceded that they had as yet identified "no target, no plan", but intelligence chiefs had decided it was important "to act before and not afterwards".
**UPDATE
French prosecutors have now confirmed that Varg Vikernes was released at 7:00 p.m. Thursday night.
