Tim Lambesis Makes Court Appearance; Facing 9 Years Prison

Tim Lambesis, the lead singer of As I Lay Dying, pleaded not guilty Thursday to a felony charge of solicitation of murder and was ordered held on $3 million bail. He is accused of trying to hire a hit man to murder his estranged wife.

Tim Lambesis, frontman of As I Lay Dying, was arrested at an Oceanside bookstore on Tuesday afternoon after allegedly giving an undercover detective $1,000 in an envelope to kill his wife, Meggan, according to sheriff's officials.

Lambesis faces nine years in state prison if convicted. The court awarded Lambesis of bail of $3 million. As of posting this article, he has not posted bail and is still being held.

Detectives began investigating Lambesis a week ago, when they say they got a tip he was trying to get someone to kill his wife.

Defense attorney Anthony Salerno told reporters that Lambesis did not intend to harm anybody and was apparently set up by the man at the gym.
"Law enforcement was being fed something by someone that I strongly believe was a snitch, was out to save his own skin and was trumping things up, exaggerating things," Salerno said.
