Rex Brown book Rex Brown "Official Truth: 101 Proof"

Let's just say I was excited when I heard that Rex Brown bassist of Pantera would be writing a book. I was even more excited when a promotional copy came my way. As a long time fan of Pantera I was very interested in the history of the band. I pre-ordered Rex Brown's "Official Truth: 101 Proof" but the thought of having it two weeks early was like Christmas in March.

The story begins where you would expect, at the death of 'Dimebag' Darrell Abbott, but then takes you on the journey of the rise and fall of one of the biggest bands in heavy metal history. "Official Truth: 101 Proof" settles you in with stories from the early days of Pantera. With their early beginnings as a glam metal band in North Texas to the release of "Cowboys From Hell", "Official Proof 101" follows the band and its members from the early beginnings of Pantera to their eventual break up in 2003. Rex then continues the account from his touring and recording with the band Down, to his newest project "Kill Devil Hill". "Official Truth: 101 Proof" takes a page out of Pantera's metal history and leaves you wanting more.

In "Official Truth: 101 Proof" Rex opens up for an honest account of what transpired during his years in Pantera. He talks about the relationships that were made as well as the ones he lost. From starting with nothing, to having more money and fame then one can ever know what to do with. Throughout the book Rex's honesty is always there with his portrayal of his former band mates. He talks about the ride, the booze and the party that never seemed to end.

In his own words, it did come to an end. Learn more about the inside road to fame and stardom from the man who lived it firsthand. "Official Truth: 101 Proof" is Rex Brown's chance to clear the air to tell the story that you have only heard about. "Official Truth: 101 Proof" is available online and in bookstores worldwide.
