Police Shutdown Spokane Knitting Factory Over Shootings

On Monday, the Spokane Police Chief ordered the Knitting Factory to close. The decision is effective immediately but can be appealed.

Police have responded to four shootings at the venue in the past year. The most recent shooting was early Monday morning.

"I want the community to understand the Spokane Police Department will in no way, shape or form tolerate these acts of violence," added Chief Frank Straub.

Knitting Factory managers have 20 days to appeal Straub's decision to close their venue.

A shooting outside of the Knitting Factory on Monday left two people injured. Officers said neither victim was critically hurt.

Maybe the cops need to patrol the area better as once patrons leave the venue, club security is pretty much powerless and it does become a problem of the Spokane, WA police.

No word yet if any upcoming concerts will be rescheduled or moved to different venues.
